CAD/CAM

Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing [CAD/CAM] is now a feature in our dental office and has revolutionized the way we restore teeth. The CEREC3 machine allows us to design and mill porcelain crowns, inlays, onlays and veneers and complete the work - start to finish - in a single visit. That's right: no more temporaries for two weeks and then return for the final crown. We custom make each one and patients leave with the finished work that very day. Could it be better?

How It Works

  • After shaping your tooth for a crown, inlay, onlay or veneer, we take a digital picture of the tooth.
  • We then design the new restoration on a computer as you look on.
  • Then we pick out a porcelain block matched to the shade of your tooth and the milling unit shapes it into a precisely fitting restoration.
  • We bond it in place and you’re out the door.

There are many advantages to the CEREC3 restorations over the traditional lab fabricated ones:

  • No gooey impression
  • No temporary that can come off or that you have to avoid eating on or flossing around
  • Because of the biocompatible material of CEREC3 restorations, they are often less sensitive to temperature changes, fit within high tolerances, and feel like your natural tooth
  • No second visit, injection and getting used to something all over again - CEREC3 restorations fit right the first visit
  • The CEREC3 porcelain is kinder to your opposing teeth that the porcelain commonly used in laboratory fabricated porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns
  • CEREC3 porcelain crowns look more natural than porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns
